After teasing the audience in Some Assembly Required, Drew shares his research and mindset behind their decision to accept the newborn. Unfortunately the judge in the case has other ideas and decides a drug addict makes a fine mother.
On behalf of the baby who never had a chance Drew issues his Call To Action. Please contact your state legislators and begin lobbying them to change how this broken system works. We also ask that you review the show where ever you find it to help it climb the rankings and get more notice. Reckless decisions need to be addressed and the rights of the children need to surpass the rights of their abusers.
Dave Jackson’s Logical Weightloss Podcast gives us this week’s Inspirational Quote. “Though we can not go back in time to change the past, we can make positive changes now in order to change the future”. Visit Dave’s page if you need some inspiration or advice on losing weight.
Two News stories this week, both short. One is a good story with a bad twist, the other is a bad story with a good twist. Drew also does his best to pay Canada a compliment, but just winds up making fun of them in the process.
Meet Gina is the first story. Gina was adopted out of foster care on January 28th. Drew wonders why foster families are not allowed to publish photos of their kids when the bio families do not have the same restrictions. It is hard to treat kids like family if they are constantly excluded from family photos.
The second story comes from Canada and points out that the Victorian foster care system is bankrupt. Drew finds a ray of sunshine here though, at least the Canadian foster parents are not in it for the money!
Parenting Tips From A Crazy Person makes its return as Drew quickly tires of nightmares. Jane Goodall is rolling over as he basks in the brilliance of his latest kid problem work around.
Finally Drew talks about naming the production Rescue Reef Studios, and introduces the audience to his snakes, lizard and dogs, as well as Bonaire.
